DEFINITION OF POSITION:
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Family Birth Center setting. Communicates with Physicians/Nurse Manager/Co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. He/she is responsible for initiating the computerized Plan of Care on admission. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
NOTE: various departments may have additional qualifications/certification and responsibilities associated with their specific area. Copies of department specific requirements may be obtained through your HR representative.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice. Current RN license in the State of Oregon; BLS and NPR; Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty preferred. - IV certification, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI).
Desired: BSN
Experience:
Required: None.
Desired: Previous L&D Experience.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Current RN license in the State of Oregon; ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required. Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty may be preferred.
Equipment/Tools/Work Aids: Infusion pumps, and other medical equipment, computer terminal printer, photocopier, and patient charts.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Ability to provide care for the patient's age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being.
